What is the main reason people go to church?

The main reason people go to church is to worship God, hear His Word, grow
spiritually, and fellowship with other believers. Church is not only about
attending a service, but about growing in our relationship with God and with
the body of Christ.

Let me break it down a little so you can understand my point… people go to
church for different reasons. Some people come because they want to hear the
Word. Some come because they want to pray. Some come because they need
encouragement, direction, healing, or support. And some people simply come
because they grew up going to church and many also go to church to look for
friends, babes and some go to church to mock and to charge their phones.

But beyond all of these things, we need to understand why we are actually going to church.

We go to worship God. We go to hear His Word. We go to grow. We go to
fellowship with other believers, encourage one another, and become more like
Christ.

And that’s why church should not just be a place where you come every
Sunday, sit down, listen to a message and go home. There should be something
happening in your life.

You should be growing. You should be learning. Your relationship with God
should be getting stronger. You should be becoming a better Christian and also
becoming useful to the body of Christ.

Hebrews 10:25 reminds us not to forsake the gathering of believers. So yes,
attending church is important, but the bigger question is… what are you
becoming because you are attending?

That is where the real value is.
