Write materials that help people do ministry better.

Ministry Shelf publishes practical, bylined materials for the people doing the real work of ministry — sermons, Bible studies, training outlines, templates, lesson plans and guides. If you have something like that worth sharing, apply to write for the Shelf.

What we publish

Materials people can actually use.

Strong contributions begin with a real ministry need and leave the reader with something they can put to work.

Sermons

A full sermon or message outline someone else could preach or teach from.

e.g. Staying faithful in a season of waiting

Bible studies

A structured study for small groups, cell meetings or personal devotion.

e.g. A five-week study on servant leadership

Training outlines

A structure for training workers, volunteers or new leaders in a specific responsibility.

e.g. Onboarding outline for new ushers

Templates

A reusable document, form or planning tool other leaders can adapt for their own context.

e.g. Church event planning template

Lesson plans

A ready-to-teach lesson for a class, department or age group.

e.g. A lesson plan for teaching teenagers about integrity

Guides

Clear, practical guidance for navigating a ministry responsibility or solving a specific problem.

e.g. How to build a dependable church workforce
What we look for

You don't need a platform. You need useful experience.

Your name goes on it, and every piece is reviewed before publication. We're checking for:

  • You've done the workReal experience leading, serving, teaching, organising or building something in ministry.
  • It's genuinely practicalThe reader should be able to understand a problem, make a decision or take a useful next step.
  • It's clearStrong ideas aren't hidden behind unnecessary complexity, repetition or inflated language.
  • It's responsibleOne person's experience isn't presented as a universal formula. Context matters, especially in ministry.
  • It's your ownOriginal work, not a reproduction of material published elsewhere — and you're open to editorial questions and revisions.

Read the full Editorial Policy before applying.
