Church workers can pray for spiritual growth, strength from above, faithfulness in service, unity, wisdom, and the grace to serve God with the right heart. They should also pray for their character, families, and commitment to the Word and work of God.

Church workers need to pray because serving in church is not just about doing activities or carrying out responsibilities. We need strength from above to continue, especially when the work becomes difficult. We need to remain faithful in our service unto God, and we need unity amongst ourselves so that there won’t be strife, envy, competition, or bitterness.

We also need to pray for the wisdom of God to serve and lead well. We have leaders, and we have people serving in different departments, so everybody needs wisdom for whatever God has committed into his or her hands. And we need the grace to serve God Himself, not man, not with eye-service. Our service is unto God.

Church workers should also pray for growth in character, pray for their families, and stand in the gap for them. We have to remain committed to the Word of God and to the work of God.

So, here are five important prayer points that church workers can use during personal prayers or workers’ meetings.

1. Pray for spiritual growth

“Father, help us to grow in our relationship with You and help us remain spiritually grounded as we serve in Your house.”

2 Peter 3:18

2. Pray for fresh fire and passion

“Lord, renew our passion for Your work. Do not let us become cold, distracted, or weary in serving You.”

Romans 12:11

3. Pray for faithfulness in service

“Father, help us to be faithful and committed to every responsibility You have placed in our hands.”

1 Corinthians 4:2

4. Pray for grace to serve

“Lord, give us the grace and strength to serve faithfully, even when the work becomes difficult or nobody seems to notice our effort.”

Because it will happen. We are working for God, and it’s not every time that people will acknowledge our work or give us credit. So we have to have that mindset that we are working for God, not for people’s applause.

Galatians 6:9

5. Pray for humility and teachability

“Lord, give us a humble heart. Help us to receive correction, respect leadership, and remain willing to learn at all times.”

Philippians 2:3

There are a lot of other prayer points we can pray as church workers, but these five are very important. We need to remain spiritually strong, faithful, teachable, united, and committed to the work God has given us.

Conclusion Prayer

Father, strengthen every church worker. Give us clean hands, pure hearts, and willing spirits. Help us to serve You with joy, humility, and faithfulness. Let our lives and our service bring glory to Your name alone, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
