If a church has very few first-time visitors, I wouldn’t immediately conclude that the problem is advertising. First, look at the people already in the church. Are they inviting anyone? Are they excited enough about what is happening in the church to bring someone along?

Then look at the church from the perspective of someone who has never attended before. Is there something clear and compelling that gives a person a reason to visit? It could be a special service, a relevant teaching, a youth or family activity, an outreach, or simply the opportunity to experience a welcoming church community.

I would also talk to the members. Ask them honestly, “Why do you think people around us are not coming?” They may notice things the leadership doesn’t. Sometimes the solution is not to organise another programme but to understand the people around the church better, help members become intentional inviters, and create simple opportunities for them to bring people they already know.
